⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Taputeranga Marine Reserve is an absolutely stunning place on the south coast of Wellington. It’s not just a beautiful marine reserve, but also a key entrance and car park for the Red Rocks area, including the Red Rocks 4WD track, seal colony, and even whale sightings during the right season. The beach, scenery, and coastal views are incredibly beautiful and feel very untouched. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy nature, or just take in the fresh sea air. There’s a rest area with public toilets, and it’s also popular with campervans and camping trucks for overnight parking. If you’re into the ocean, this place is perfect for diving, swimming, snorkelling, paddling, or fishingso long as it’s done responsibly and without disturbing the wildlife or vegetation. The marine reserve was established for scientific research, which makes it even more special and important to protect. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Wellington for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone wanting to experience the raw beauty of the south coast. Highly recommended! 🌊🦭📸

It's outstanding. I walk between Owhiro Bay and Island Bay most days. The scenery clears the mind, encourages me to walk and indirectly helps manage my weight.
