Great educational family day out. Nice and warm when the weather outside was cold. 6 year old enjoyed the show in the planetarium (The Apollo Story), and the interactive exhibits. Close to a cafe and the Cable Car.

I had a super fun time here with my Date yesterday! Cute unique space themed items and snacks! Lots to learn for adults! Definitely recommend going to watch a show there as the screen is above you and makes you feel as if you’re really in space! We showed up five minutes late and since it was just us the very kind workers waited for us to put the show on so we felt very honoured to get a private space talk show just for us! Super cool information being shared in a super fun way, cool place for photo opportunities and I definitely recommend bringing children here! You can even touch a piece of the moon and hold a meteorite! Will definitely be bringing my nieces and nephews back. Thank you Space place !!

I didn’t go inside but I checked out the really cool Solar Dial, easily accessible on the lawn outside. I tested it out and it was accurate, which I guess is to be expected. A great little find in this expansive, beautiful park in Wellington! Loved it.

This was one of the coolest planetariums I’ve ever been to!! We got to see this beautiful show about the bicultural nature of Māori and European explorers and how they landed here over the centuries. It was touching how they start and end the show with a Katakia, seems very culturally humble. Also the museum itself is beautifully set up with so much for kids to explore! Such a wonderful place. Grateful to have been!!

Very informative and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the planetarium movie “Dark Matter” and after talk were more suitable for higher education classes. Loads of “reading” signs about stars, space etc. They do have a small hands-on room for “wee ones”. The library was impressive. We also were able to view some interesting stars, nebula and the moon from the outside telescope. I would not recommend this for families with young children.
