Third visit and definitely now my preferred salon. Great prep to nails meant last set lasted 5 weeks without any chips/crackz etc. Recommend to all!
Edited: David from Royal Nails reached out to me when he saw this review. He emailed me twice and sent a text urging me to contact him to either provide a corrective service or full refund which was appreciated. When I communicated the impact this service had had on me, he apologised and again offered a refund. What I don't think he understands, is that this service has severely damaged my nails and I had to spend double what was refunded on getting this corrected, not to mention the lasting impacts this will have on my natural nails. It took over 2 hours for a qualified technician to remove the product used. Immediately after they had refunded me, David asked me to edit or remove my review. It makes me wonder how many people have had similar bad experiences here and been pressured to remove or edit their review after contact from David. If I had seen a review like this, I would have never booked an appointment and saved myself a lot of pain, time and distress. It breaks my heart that this might happen to someone else. I really hope they review their services and consider changing techniques. Thank you for the refund but I cannot in good conscience remove this review, a refund does not erase the experience. This was the worst experience anyone could possibly have at a nail salon. I have been in tears since I got home and cannot even look at my fingernails. I booked for BIAB and gel but ended up with thick, uneven monstrosities on my nails. First off my natural nails were ground down way too much even after saying I did not want this repeatedly. The technician then nicked my cuticles in multiple places leaving small cuts and hurting me. The filing was very unpleasant and I did not get the almond shape nail I wanted. BIAB was not used - something called water droplet was which made the nails extremely thick and bulbous. Do not go here if you want nice nails. I am so upset and now need to figure out what I’m going to do to fix my nails. The technician also didn’t sterilise the instruments after use, just wiped them down with a cloth. These are the ugliest nails ever seen.
This family-owned salon is a great find. Booking was easy, and the service was friendly and professional throughout. Really lovely team, even gave me a phone stand to watch my Netflix! They did a clean, careful job with my BIAB gel, and the nails have lasted really well. The prices are very reasonable for the quality, making it a solid 5-star experience.
100%best nail ever went in with thick bad shape ugly nail from previous nail salon in chch and need back fill the attention to details was beyond amazing and price was good clean relaxing i dont usually get nail done once in blue moon when gifted to me usely i pull off instead keeping up with maintenance. but I will be coming back first time I have decided I would pay myself i did want any think bold or flashy
