We took the 29 bus from the city on a lovely autumn day. Not your lovely golden sandy beach, it's Wellington after all, it's a rugged rocky coastline but there's a boat ramp and a coffee cart at the Te Kopauhu visitor centre.

Lovely area of Wellington. Well maintained, often see people picking up rubbish. Great lot of bird life too.

Great beach for all day fun. Not a lot of sand. Mainly flat stones. Beautiful view. No public toilets but usually less people there than the other beaches on the south coast

Nice rocky beach on the south coast of Wellington that is dog friendly. There's an off street car park and an information panel about the marine reserve that stretches along the coast line here. Nice place to go for a walk with the dog.
