If you buy individual bread rolls and use check-out, someone will come over and inspect that it is bread rolls like you are some kind of thief. This happens to me every time. It’s a really gross way to treat customers, at an expensive store, it doesn’t happen at Woolworths or even Pak N Save in my experience.
The super market is fine interesting selection of goods if a bit pricey but the parking situation is something else! I had a nasty surprise in .my letter box when I go home from holiday, after Christmas a $85 parking infringement fee ok I accept I stayed longer than the hour limit when I went to the supermarket but I would have appreciated some notification that I had incurred a penalty like a ticket under the windscreen wiper so I could pay promptly. The postal service is infrequent now and not a particularly reliable form of contact and extending the payment period to 30 days instead of 21 day to allow for this would be helpful. I am writing this to warn any one using the car park that it is a smart parking system and clocks you the moment you overstay. With the shortage of parking in Island Bay now is this a good way to encourage people to shop local? . I will be choosing to shop at Woolworths from now on as I think this system is unduly punitive
I was standing at the checkout, an older male worker came over threw some sample things in my trolley and offered me some chocolates. I took one and he says "ohhhh go on take a couple" so i grabbed about 4 and he said "noooooo you cant, put them back" and waited for me to put them back. I was overwhelmed because the checkout girl was waiting for me to pay, another lady was trying to hand me a calendar i had jst asked for and now he was talking to me about some chocolates. The way he reacted to me grabbing more chocolates after he asked me to, i was sooo embarrassed! Not impressed. I think he was the owner someone was saying. Just rude!!
♿ wheelchair accessible with wheelchair parking accessibility. Clean and tidy store it has its own wine and alcohol section . I was from Auckland and visiting and senior staff recognized as a new face which indicates knowing regular and visitors first time.polite and courteous 😀
New World is very close to my house and the best place to go shopping to. It has food for years, has food for anything you’re looking to get. They have a good service, very easy shopping with the staff and clearly marked aisles. They have kind chatty staff and the staff can easily help you find what you’re looking for. They never run out of stock, so if what you’re looking for isn’t there, ask staff to get it. New World is definitely one of the greatest shopping markets in NZ.
