Delicious falafel kebab with soft fluffy wrap. Chap chucked in some fries and was quick, well priced and friendly.

Excellent middle eastern kebab shop in Petone! I’ve tried this and the Newtown one, but this one is the best! Going in it’s quite a small shop with no seating, which makes it focused on takeaway. This is fine because I was busy today. The venue is very simple; only what’s needed. There was a tray of fresh baklava on top of the salad cabinet, which was so tempting I had to try! They also sold their flat bread on a rack, which I thought was a great touch given this is what they’re known for. They had a serious back room for making bread, very cool. There was a sign above this door, which the guy working there explained was part of the Qua’ran. While I’m not religious, I found this fascinating. The staff / owners were super lovely, very friendly and helpful, and great sales people which I love! The wrap was fantastic, super chewy, warm and fresh, and filled with fresh & picked salad and sauce. I got the garlic yoghurt, tahini and hot sauce. All went great together, though I might omit the yoghurt next time so I can taste the others better. I’m yet to try their baklava so I’ll update when I’ve done that. Overall, fantastic experience at Morteza! I will certainly be returning for more kebab and to try their other offerings! Edit: came back and ordered the mixed iskander, chicken pizza, and sesame bread. Phenomenal!! The iskander was sauce and had loads of salads and flavour, and the pizza was thick and cheesy, just how I like! I’d recommend these both, and for the iskander, get the bread to go alongside! Any / all of them are good :)

Not the first time being there as Thier bread is so good plus I been using Thier bread as a pizza base. Sandwich is so good n juicy so Thier pizza. I have middle eastern taste bud since I been living there for 10yrs which I would said it's authentic style of making it especially if u r in NZ. I have to say it's not easy to maintain this sort of taste bud as not everyone will agree on it since we are in the mixed national here. Limited seating area but neat and tidy area . Vibe is quite and szilling sound since is it's a open air and visible cooking counter. Not harm to try it as u can see the differences on normal shawarma and their sandwiches.i like Thier islander kebab but not everyone will like it as some may said it's dried as I heard it from a fren of mine but I do recommend get Thier sandwich.

Best Kabab and pizza ive had for a long time. Fresh home cooked naan, lots of toppings and tasty meat. Must try when your next in Petone.
