Outstanding stay. Spacious rooms and world class service from Receptionist Mery We were incredibly impressed with our overall stay at the Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. Mery at the front desk was professional, deeply knowledgeable, and exceptionally welcoming. She went above and beyond by helping us with our stay timings, parking, and giving us great recommendations for local shops and eateries nearby. New Zealand tourism deserves more people like Mery her hospitality is highly appreciative!The hotel itself is a nice, clean, and calm place to stay, managed by a truly great team. Our room was very spacious, and we loved the wide shower. Downstairs, the breakfast option is highly convenient and absolutely delicious. The wonderful ambience of the hotel reflects its great management. We left highly impressed and would definitely stay here again!

The soundproofing is terrible. You can hear almost everything happening in the neighboring rooms. Bring earplugs, or don’t expect to get any sleep until everyone else has gone to bed. The room was freezing. There was only one heater, and even on the highest setting, it wasn’t enough to keep the room warm. The shower had strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Cuba Street.

Newly renovated so felt modern and clean, although door was tight to open and would not self close.. Offers free breakfast yet they are aware many guests catch the ferry so cannot use the breakfast vouchers. That left a bad experience of the place as many other hotels do accommodate this. There is absolutely no parking offered as a guest, you have to pay $35 to park In Wilson car park that is only designed for really really really small cars not regular sized

Midweek getaway. Wellington Airport Express Bus very handy to get to the hotel location, and from the airport, just a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. Easy bus to Weta Workshop too. The hotel service was good. All communications were timely and professional. Beds comfy, room refreshed, level 6. We really enjoyed our stay, family of 4. Roomy enough.

Location is good, close enough to all activities and access. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit run down and aged. There was also hair on the bathroom floor, a pin in the bed and stains on the carpet. Other than that it was safe. Good balance of value vs cost. But do not expect a 5 star experience.
