Wellington's live music venue in the former Salvation Army building
Brilliant sound, space, ventilation and feel. I would be quite happy if every gig was at Meow Nui from now on. With that in mind, please consider booking John Grant, Fiona Apple, King Crimson, Jim Sullivan, Chicano Batman, Desert Sessions &/or Snapped Ankles et al. Chur.
It use to be the old Salvation Army building, it now holds good size events and around one thousand people in the building about nine hundred downstairs and a hundred upstairs. I was told thats how many people can fit in meowNui center, if anyone knows the correct amount please drop it here that will help for future reference for others that may want to hold events thanks so much.

This was our first time going here and I don't know if they just oversold the tickets for this show or what, but this was not a good experience. Incredibly hot and stuffy and no ventilation except from the front door swinging open occasionally. The tiered flooring seems really good if you're on it, but if you're stuck behind that you can't see much of anything because of the low ceiling and giant pillars supporting the mezzanine. The sound quality is also a lot worse from under the mezzanine. Had to keep leaving the building for fresh air and ended up going home midway through. Only went once and it was amazing. I went for Malcolm Todd, the standing areas are decent. The bartenders and merchandisers were nice, and gave good service. Me and my friends loved it, 5/5 (They have good variety of drinks)
