43 & 42 yo married couple from NZ. Completed a private full day Wairarapa Food and Wine tour with Tom who was great at fitting us in short notice. For a very reasonable extra charge he also picked us up from our out-of-the-way accommodation. Tom was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and we felt at ease in his company. He clearly loves his business and has genuine passion and connections with all the fantastic places we visited (around 8 total). It was an awesome way to get familiar with an area we’d never been before and tick off a lot of the well known, and hidden gems in one go - especially if you’re only around for a few days. Would highly recommend Kaewa Tours - well worth the money!

I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and have been dreaming of this trip for as long as I can remember. Tom our guide was so great in helping make that dream come true. Being so kind in showing us all of the sights where the filming was done, learn more about the process, and create an environment where I could celebrate my love of these remarkable and inspiring films, along with fall in love with the beauty of Wellington itself. I cannot express my gratitude enough. I would definitely do it again and recommend to anyone interested in LOTR or just wanting a fun way to explore and get to know New Zealand. We did the full day Lord of the Rings tour and were completely blown away! Dave is an incredible guide - he was very friendly and super knowledgeable of the Wellington area. He also took some great photos! Seeing the Lord of the Rings filming locations, Weta Workshop, and Stonestreet was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Kaewa tours made the experience all the more enjoyable. As an avid Lord of the Rings fan, I am super glad we booked this tour. Dave took us to MANY filming locations, and had plenty of local knowledge about the filming process that I had no idea about. Having someone to handle the photos for us and know exactly where to go for filming locations (plus being an all around great person!) was invaluable, thank you for the great day!!

We had a most enjoyable experience with Dave as our driver and guide tasting wines from the Martinborough region. We attended 4 wineries and enjoyed the scenery, tastings and conversation along the way. We would highly recommend Kaewa Tours. We didn’t have to worry about any of the logistics of booking or driving after consuming several samples. All tasting fees and lunch are included in the quote. Delightful day all around.

My husband and I did the private guided full day South Wairarapa tour with Tom as our guide. We have done many excursions and day trips in many countries and I can honestly say that this is one of the best we have ever been on. And the key ingredient that Tom brings? Connection. From our very first meeting, he made us feel very comfortable and he is so genuine and down-to-earth that you feel an immediate connection. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and Tom ensured that we were well taken care of the entire time. The various stops along the way were wonderful. Lots of opportunities for photos. We think it is a very special touch that Tom takes many pics as well and then emails them to you later on. I’ve never seen that done before. The wine tasting and lunch at Poppies in Martinborough was outstanding. The charcuterie was unique and exceptional. The tour to Cape Palliser offered astounding views and I was impressed that Tom braved the 253 steps to the top with us. I could go on because there were so many small details that Tom injected into the day. All I can say is thank you Tom, it was amazing!
