A wine bar in Wellington with a thoughtful and ethical focus
We had such a lovely meal at Graze Wine Bar. Sitting at the bar next to the kitchen was great - we were so impressed with how well the chefs & staff worked within such a small space. The food was delicious with many unexpected flavours (like the pumpkin ice cream!). The cauliflower was our favourite of the night. Highly recommended.
We were delighted by the dinner experience! Having the whole shebang menu we tasted pretty much everything on the menu. Every dish was full of flavour, unique and carefully prepared. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would say to anyone don’t hesitate to try here - it’s quick to get to from the city if you’re not from town you can get a quick uber there…. So worth it. Thanks to the friendly, warm and talented team there. Will be back on next visit.
Had an incredible experience at Graze and would highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in Wellington! We did the “full shebang” tasting menu where you get every item on the menu which I would highly recommend if you want to try a variety of dishes and are hungry as we left very full! Every dish was delicious and innovative with lots of locally sourced seasonal ingredients. We also did the wine flight which included 3 wines, a sparkling rose, a white and a red and we enjoyed the white so much that we got a bottle. It is a very small restaurant with an open kitchen but a lovely relaxed vibe and the team including the chefs were super friendly and great at explaining every course to us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
An awesome find we stumbled across after doing the Wellington cable car. The restaurant / wine bar is cool and cosy, with a couple outdoor tables on the street sidewalk. The food was all absolutely delicious, lots of inspired and unique seafood and vegetable dishes. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We enjoyed a bottle of chilled red with our small plates which was very tasty, and paired well with the cheeseboard we enjoyed to finish.
What an absolutely fabulous evening! I can't think of having had a dinner that was so much fun AND so delicious as a solo diner. The wine was some of the best I had across my New Zealand travels. Plate after plate (and trust me I had 12!) I was wowed by flavor, beauty and preparation. A seat at the chef's counter is a must. If I lived here I'd buy my own barstool and never leave. SO SO GOOD. And more than that a special feeling of community and experience.
