Had a tooth extracted by Dr. Thomas Noble-Campbell. He was fantastic, didn't feel a thing. Used minimum anesthetic and was very attentive, thorough, and explained the extraction process as we went along. Dr. Noble-Campbell has a great personality. I had fun!! I’m so grateful for the service I received today from Dr Julie Stent at Gentle Dental. Julie was my dentist over a decade ago and I’m so pleased she is working in central Wellington again. She remembered me as a patient from all those years ago and took such great care of my needs. Highly recommend her.
BEWARE - disregard for patient comfort/intimidation. I visited for a hygienist appointment late last year and had the worst dental appointment of my life. I normally don’t mind dentists and hygienists, yeah they can be uncomfortable, but nothing like this. I’ve still given two stars because I’ve had another visit that was fine (before this one), so your experience will probably be highly dependent on who you get. I had only been regularly flossing for about one year at this time, and I think the hygienist didn’t believe me that I flossed. She took some floss between my teeth, held it down with heavy pressure into my gums/jaw, and continued pushing down with force in the one spot (not actually flossing) while she lectured me about flossing. I sat there wincing, my face screwed up on pain as I listened, because I was shocked and trusted her as the professional to be correct. She was looking me in the eye as she lectured me, while intentionally causing me obvious intense pain. This was last year and I’ve recently realised I haven’t flossed once since that day. I genuinely was traumatised by it. Please be warned if you’re considering going here, they are anything but gentle. My email records state the hygienists name was Priya Kumar.
The whole process has been outstanding. From the first consultation to each follow‑up appointment, the team have been organised, welcoming, and incredibly thorough. I always felt informed and cared for, and the quality of service has been exceptional. I’m very happy with my experience and would highly recommend Dr Ray Temo, Dr Mike Tonkes and the team at the Gentle Dental Centre Ghuznee St Wellington.
I highly recommend Dr. Duncan, DA Lasey, and DA Cathy for their excellent care today. My husband had swollen gums, and before proceeding with the tooth extraction, Dr. Duncan clearly explained everything he was going to do. This gave my husband confidence and helped him make an informed decision about the treatment. The procedure took only about 30 minutes and went very smoothly. Afterward, I asked my husband if he felt any discomfort, and he said it was amazing—he felt none of the discomfort he had expected before the extraction. Thank you, Dr. Duncan, DA Lasey, and DA Cathy, for your professionalism, gentle care, and excellent service. Truly a 5-star experience!
