Mushrooms on Toast were AMAZING. Hot chocolate was great. My friend loved the burger and thinks all burgers should have rocket instead of lettuce *satisfactory nod* 🫡

Fidel’s deserves a Michelin star yesterday. The food is hands down the best I’ve ever had and we’ve tried almost everything here. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and pairs perfectly with the superb coffee. The staff are lovely. Couldn’t recommend this place more!! Wellington is lucky to have Fidel’s.

My wife and I rewatched the movie Chef and were in the mood for a Cubano. So we started researching and (we’re new here) found Fidel’s. So the next day I went to go check it out. Closed on Mondays. The next day after I hit the gym, I came to try again. Closes at 2pm. Got there 45 mins late. Tried again two days later, on Thursday. The door was closed, with no sign out front saying “we’ve temporarily moved to a new location.” 😩 So I Googled whether Fidel’s had moved, and they have, to Havana (fitting), which is only a block away. I’ve been to Havana and it’s a nice chill vibe. But when I got the menu, I don’t know if it’s the lunch menu or what but there’s no Cubano. So I must live a cursed life or something. Their steak samdwich is fantastic though. So there’s that. The search continues.

New location, new look, same vibe, and amazing food and coffee. I'll admit, I was pretty bummed to see the old location on Cuba Street closed... Been visiting that spot since 1999... But the new spot didn't disappoint. Fidel burrito was amazing. Coffee is always on point. Well done with the transition Roger! Can't wait to see what the next chapter brings... 🤟💯🔥
