Really enjoyed our visit! The food was delicious, fresh, and packed with flavour. The portions were great, and everything came out nice and hot. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. The place had a nice atmosphere, and we had a great experience overall. Definitely recommend giving it a try—we’ll be back for sure

Great spot for dinner - the food was delicious! I had the matariki 4 course special menu (I chose the fry bread, pork belly, deconstructed beef wellington and chocolate mousse and all were excellent) while hubby had the burger and island flan. Would definitely return to sample some of the other options.

Delicious food, they made a vegan burger for me. My partner had the slow cooked beef parve, he was very impressed. And we shared the coconut lemongrass rice pudding dessert, we had a cocktail each. The staff were friendly and efficient.

We had breakfast at Ernesto’s in Wellington and it was a fantastic start to the day. Located right in the CBD on Grey Street, just opposite the InterContinental Hotel, it’s a really convenient spot—easy to find and perfect if you’re in the city or near the waterfront. The food looked amazing as soon as it arrived, and it tasted just as good. The French toast was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, soft in the middle—and served with fresh fruit, yoghurt, and syrup which balanced everything really nicely. The banana and granola dish was also a standout, with great texture and just the right level of sweetness. Their coffee was spot on—exactly what you’d expect in a city known for its café culture. Smooth, well-made, and a great match with the meal. The menu itself is really well-rounded, offering everything from breakfast favourites to more modern, seasonal dishes, along with small plates, desserts, and a full drinks list. It feels like a place you could just as easily come back to for lunch or dinner as well. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for breakfast in Wellington.

Look it was alright. It was nothing to write home about that’s for sure. Cocktails were nice and the food was acceptable. It reminded me of a pub meal, not a restaurant but it’s affordable and it has a little bit of everything without being over the top. My wife’s Sirloin steak was ordered medium and came out well done. The waitress took our drink order (2nd lot of drinks) and it never arrived. Overall I won’t be returning. But as an international traveller and I won’t be anyway.
