Had a great experience at the Embassy Cinema last night watching The Mandalorian & Grogu. While the movie itself didn’t completely wow me, the overall experience absolutely made up for it. A special thank you to Todd at the bar. his customer service was exceptional and a real testament to the venue. I genuinely appreciated his honesty, professionalism, and friendly attitude. Great customer service can really make an experience memorable, and Todd definitely did that. The cinema atmosphere, service, and overall experience were fantastic. Will definitely be back when I'm next in Wellington!

Great cinema, just don't get the seats up the back from middle up as those are the old and really uncomfortable ones. But the others upgraded seats in the cenema are ace. Lovely old building. Big screen. Great sound.

Great theatre, comfy seats and good sound. The candy bar has all the staples and they also have hot food menu you can take in. Good selection of alcoholic drinks at the black sparrow bar downstairs as well.

The Embassy Theatre on Kent Terrace is an absolute must-visit if you love classic theatres. The location is very convenient, the building is beautifully maintained, and the seating is comfortable plus it wasn’t cold like some theatres can be. The architecture alone makes it worth visiting, even if you’re not watching a movie. It’s amazing to learn about the theatre’s history, nearly 100 years old, and its connection to major premieres like The Lord of the Rings and more recently Avatar: Fire and Ash. I watched Avatar: Fire and Ash here and it was a fantastic experience. Truly one of Wellington’s iconic landmarks.

Built in 1924, this is one of New Zealand's best theaters. With a capacity of 750, you can consider it as one of the larger venues as well. It is worth visiting for its beautiful interior.
