Offering healthcare services and long-term condition management
I have been going to this medical center for about 4 years now and have always been incredibly happy with the care and service they provide. The reception staff are always lovely and very helpful. I have had a number if different GPs here over the years, but my current GP Dr. Laura is amazing! She is thorough and is very fun and caring. The nurses have also been very helpful as well. Thanks EBHC for your hard work!
I’ve been a patient for a number of years at EBHC and find a much improved surgery. My recent experience with Dr Hamuera Pere (my new doctor), Dr Laura Garlic and nurse Toni and reception staff, are great to deal with and highly recommended.
The best medical centre I’ve ever had. Dr. Brooke Leota has to be the best doctor I’ve ever met. She is excellent at coming up with a plan that you will be happy with and always prioritises her patients. Very respectful of what the patient is and isn’t keen to do. My appointments with her are always the highlight of my week and honestly I feel more seen and heard with her than any therapy session I’ve had. She is also amazing at discussing new medication with patients that aren’t common and does excellent research around them while involving you and taking your input. Every time I go in for an appointment I leave with all of my issues properly addressed. The whole team is very lovely, kind and helpful, and the receptionists are the amazing too. I would leave a 100 star rating if I could.
If Dr. Karen Mason still practices here, do not enroll with her. She spent a year dismissing my complex symptoms as anxiety, pushing me to take SSRIs that I didn't need, and only running basic bloods (Iron & white blood cell count) when I asked for testing to get to the bottom of my worsening chronic condition. I had to beg multiple times across different appointments to be referred to see a cardiologist to investigate tachycardia and to rule in/out diagnoses. I finally chose to change practices last year after an appointment where she did not wear a mask while her child had covid (while masks were still required in healthcare), and acted as if she couldn't remember the symptoms I had discussed with her at least once a month for over 10 months. After my first appointment with my new GP at a different practice I had comprehensive blood work prescribed, and within 4 months of being with my new GP practice I was prescribed correct medication for my condition which took me from largely bedbound to being able to work full time - my condition was allowed to worsen under Dr. Mason, leaving me with genuine medical trauma and anxiety about seeing doctors, and it is a relief to finally have access to proper care. The other doctors and receptionists at this practice are nice, but are a bit slow in emergencies - I needed an IUD removed urgently and my referral to get an ultrasound for it took a week to be sent by the practice to Pacific Radiology. Generally don't recommend this practice if you have any sort of ongoing condition or medical complexities - I'm sure they're great for general check-ups and things like that, but not for anything more involved.
Another useless Wellington Doctors! Turned up for my scheduled 2pm first appointment to be told “no it’s tomorrow” Readjusted my entire work/life schedule to suit this stupid appointment all for NOTHING 😡
