Cool Asian fusion restaurant. If you’re looking for an Asian contemporary twist, this is the place :) The sophisticated, dimly lit interior has a modern Asian feel, with minimalist Japanese influences throughout, from the décor to the menu design. Service is courteous, professional and attentive in the dining area, with a slightly more casual feel at the rear, where there’s a very cool and spacious bar hidden away that’s well worth checking out. The food is delicious, with reasonable portions and flavours that feel familiar yet surprising. We ordered some yummy dumplings with an interesting contemporary twist (though I felt for the price I expected them to be bigger), a very good salad, a Wellington burger special and a duck dish. Everything was tasty and nicely presented. Would definitely come back!

Everything is perfecttt!! One of the best restaurant in Wellington Would recommend the wagyu beef tostada and popcorn chicken. Great WOAP burger too with huge patties inside. YUMMMM!!

We arrived to Wellington after a 6h drive from Tauranga, it was past 9 and we feared not finding any place to grab a bite. The Dragonfly not only fed us delicious asian fusion food, but also gave us s lovely evening with original cocktails and a great vibe. The staff were amazing. 5/5!

Tried our luck on ANZAC day for dinner, walked in without a reservation and got a table buly the bar. Service was quick and good was yum 😋... could have more variety in food but enjoyed the items we ordered and the tiramisso cocktail was yummy and not too strong. Will go again for another round of drinks for sure.

Just a 5min walk from the Wakefield Parking Lot you'll find the Dragonfly; an elegant Asian cuisine-based restaurant offering a unique amalgamation of elevated, signature dishes that remind you of Nǎinai's cooking, with a twist. Let's work from Atmosphere, Service then up to Food shall we! Atmosphere: On approach to Dragonfly, you may risk missing the sign locating the restaurant, personally, this may be better set as a larger - more visible sign that screams to ASIA and welcomes you into the already beautifully designed interior. Stepping into the entry lobby/seating area, don't walk too far in as you'll miss the welcome desk to your left where you can chat to one of the staff and receive your table booking once they arrive at the desk. Once seated, you can take in the beautiful restaurant and dining setting, nothing short of an upmarket Chinese restaurant drawing you back into time of the High Tang Dynasty! Service: Our waitress, name not given - if it was then it was really fast which only spoke volumes to the explanation of the menu choices we had available - yes, a tad too fast to truly take in what I was about to order and what set out of selections I had available. Nonetheless, this rushed approach seemed to Dragonfly my Atmosphere rating down a notch unfortunately. Food: As mentioned above, elevated dishes that remind you of Nǎinai's cooking. [SEE IMAGES ATTACHED] Perfectly seasoned Taiwanese popcorn chicken seasoned with sichuan pepper, curry leaves, and roasted chilli soy glaze have the the perfect kick of heat to wake up those taste buds! We sided this with a bowl of Thai Chicken Dumplings laid in a fresh and fragrant green curry broth, and lemon grass oil. Alongside this was a platter of Wagyu Orange Beef Tostada. The wagyu miss a bit of seasoning to be able to stand on its own but as a whole dish, it came together well! All this was finished off with a beautifully designed chocolate mousse! Nothing but perfection! Complements to the Chef(s), Wellington done team! Outstanding experience!
