I had a long night out with friends, and I needed to do some stuff in the CBD and wanted a coffee. I ended up going to Willis Lane for a change of scenery, and I met Fernanda. She was warm, friendly, and very charming. She made me a nice coffee with my specific request — I like a mochaccino with a marshmallow inside, and she made it just the way I like it. I really enjoyed realizing that she's from Chile, just like me, and I truly appreciated her hospitality and people skills. I'll be coming for more coffees before I start work on Saturdays from now on. 🫶🔥🫂✨

Once you find it underground in Willis Lane food court, this is a great little bar with very friendly service and a big range of excellent tasty beers, even a few guest beers too. Not your normal food court bar (if that’s even a thing?)

Very cool place located within a food court in the basement. Beer selection also available on untappd, it was easier to pick the one we wanted to try

Good beer, also scores extra points for playing the rugby. Oddly enough we found it difficult to find a bar in Wellington playing the Rugby that wasn't already full (there weren't as many options as we thought), thanks to Churlys for giving us somewhere with good beer and the rugby.

This is a review more for the benefit of the owner's of Churly's - please see the attached photo (if you want it taken down please let me know and it's as good as gone.) The man working in this photo needs a pay rise, a promotion, or both. Seldom have I come across someone so completely across their job in the hospitality industry as this guy. He was working by himself on a busy Saturday night, and carrying the workload of two or three people by himself. He kept the bar full and the punters served for the entire time we were there, without so much as breaking a sweat. It was clear he was under a lot of pressure, but his demeanor, his customer service and the quality of his work never faltered. If he's not already training your staff then you guys need to check who is because I don't even work for you yet I just received a masterclass in customer service. It was bloody impressive to watch! For my fellow customers - cool place with a good drinks menu. The food is simple but really high quality and goes well with a cold beer or cocktail perfectly. Great spot to start a night out.
