Food court in Wellington
Went there at 1pm and only 5 spots were open. We tried the Nepal and the Vietnamese stalls. Food was great but I was expecting more variety. Does not get that street market vibe at all since most stalls were closed. The Vietnamese pho was fresh especially on a rainy muggy day.
I picked my hotel to be near the market because I love street food, but I should have known better. Some reviews warned of the small selection of booths but here, we're are beyond that level, 2 places open on a Saturday, 3 last night (Friday). Total there might be 4 or 5 of them, if, the still operate. I'm quite a fan of street food but this is on the basis of a high turn over keep the stuff freshly cooked or baked. So even in a deserted area if people were numerous enough to order from the same spot I would give it a try. But not here, the food did not look appealing, no one was really eating. It's gone, dead, and it should be advertised as such
Small food hall in centre of Wellington. Great service and food cooked to order at the stores we purchased from (Crackheads and Grandmas butter chicken). Reasonable prices and good sized portions. Some stores are empty or were closed at the time we were there (2pm Friday). Disliked : pigeons eating off food left on tables.
International food court with many different types of cuisine (sushi, Indian, Vietnamese, Napalese, etc.) Centrally located. Just look for the strip doors (hanging plastic flaps) for the entryway. It's well lit with heat lamps and has a cozy cafeteria feel.
Great variety of authentic ethnic foods for excellent value. Friendly and efficient service. Grimey urban food court vibe with plenty of seating. Cool space with graffiti and mural art decorating the surfaces. Bathrooms not accessible.
