Came here for a little birthday lunch and was wowed at how delicious my burger was. My fiancé got a hot chicken sando, and I ordered The Bernie. We opted for the $5 weekday lunch special (add fries and a drink for $5)- what a bargain! Staff were attentive and friendly. We both enjoyed our time and food thouroughly. Fries were some of the best we’ve ever had and I loved the homemade ketchup. No notes- five stars.
Got The Smokey Single, Curlies, and a Dough Boy. Genuinely really good burger bar. The buns don't compress to the point of falling apart like some other places. Properly crispy curly fries. They have a mix of beef patties and chicken burgers, all of which are pretty customizable. They have a full week program of deals going on. Their dessert menu is a good size so it will take a while to try them all.
I always enjoy visiting this place. The staff are awesome and authentically themselves, the service is quick, and the food is delicious. We arrived in town quite late so got here half an hour before advertised closing time but they didn't bat an eye and cleared a table for us! So happy 👌 Till next time!
Used to be one of my favorite spots in the city, especially as they are one of the few places in wellington that do jalapeno poppers since lots of places switched to those awful croquette potato and jalapeno bites instead of actual chillies. I try get here every few months, went this afternoon for lunch and the service and burgers were amazing as always. Sadly the jalapeno poppers have taken a hit in quality. Slightly cheaper and you get more pieces, but they are halved and have less filling which just isnt the same no longer whole stuffed chillies which makes them special. See pictures for a side by side comparison I know and understand the labour and time that goes into making them, thats why i don't mind paying $20-30 for a portion so i don't have to do them at home. However I'd happily pay extra for the old way I hope this change isn't permanant, the rest of the menu is so good
Love their branding, decor & overall industrial themed burger joint! Heard many great things about this placing slinging some of the best burgers (and vegan!) in the city while visiting. Stopped in for lunch. Staff was super friendly & helpful explaining how to veganize the order! The vegan items were clearly marked & easy to figure out which was nice! My partner got a regular meat burger & said it was delicious. You can really tell they use quality ingredients as well as local sourced. I got the vegan burger with fries. The vegan patty was perfectly cooked, complete with vegan cheese & vegan aioli. Really solid lunch. I also enjoyed that their absolutely perfect crispy fries. Not a single sad soggy fry to be found on our plates 🤣 Well, it appears the hype about Burger Liquor was right. They do make some amazing burgers & vegan choices!
