Enjoyed staying here. Kay’s breakfast was tasty. Room was spacious with a desk, luggage stands, place to hang clothes, chairs , tea coffre supplies, and books. As noted by others it is slightly noisy with a bus stop out front but location is great for access Victoria park, Te Papa and the Sunday market. Parking was first come first serve so we ended up paying for street parking 1 of 3 nights. Booking via messaging Jane was helpful as we were able to check the room met our needs.

A perfect little bed and breakfast on the outskirts of Wellington city. Right beside the Mt Vic community garden, bowling club, and town belt, this place is a peaceful sanctuary. The Janet Frame room was cosy and well-decorated, with an incredibly comfy bed. Breakfast was served with love and attention to detail, and was delicious. Lots of books lining the shelves to borrow, and one (sometimes two) resident lap dogs. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Lovely older home, each room named after a famous new Zealander. Wonderful staff, who make you feel welcome and provide a breakfast that will keep you going through most of the day. Bus, literally, outside your door, making getting around incredible easy.

I had a wonderful time at Booklovers B&B! Jane and Sonia are great hosts. The breakfast was delicious. I stayed in the Katherine suite with a lovely waterfront view and watched fireworks from my room — couldn't ask for a better view! I loved my stay and would definitely return!

Stayed two nights in October 2025. Jane is simply lovely. My friend and I really appreciated that this place has rooms with two beds, easy for non-romantic, two-person trips. Great recommendations from the staff. If you’re walking, it is on a hill just to bear in mind if that’s not your thing. Park nearby has hiking paths that lead to some really delightful surprises (don’t wanna spoil it for you).
