Distinctive beehive-shaped building housing government offices
The Beehive is easily one of the most unique and iconic buildings in New Zealand. The bold, modernist design by Sir Basil Spence looks incredibly distinct in person, especially sitting right next to the classical Parliament House. It's a must-photograph spot if you're exploring Wellington. You can walk around the grounds for free, but definitely look into the guided parliament tours to get inside. However, you need to book ahead online as spots fill up fast.
What a cool place to visit; guided tours are absolutely free and take about an hour. I do recommend you book on advance.
Such an interesting building! It was cool seeing it from different vantage points and then checking out the grounds. Tip: I recommend booking a tour online in advance. Tours are usually available within a few days of you going (at least that’s what it seemed like when I was there). I wish I did this!
If you appreciate architecture and older buildings, this is definitely an awesome space to soak it in. Set in stunning gardens, a true monument to older times and of course NZ Parliament buildings.
Excellent, and free, tour where the guide went above and beyond. You also get access to a very nicely stocked gift shop and a cafeteria upstairs.
