Working farm producing lambswool throws and 8-ply Romney yarn
After reading 'In the woolshed' in the Wairarapa Lifestyle magazine I brought my granddaughter - a city child and a novice knitter - to Palliser Ridge to see where wool comes from. We got such a warm welcome from Glenda and Kurt, went into the shearing shed, smelled the wonderful smell and left with a cone of lambswool and lots of good ideas! Here's another knitter for life! Appreciated Glenda's wise advice: 'when you get busy and stressed, get knitting!'
A lovely peaceful place to unwind and enjoy the outstanding views and peace and quite. Cosy and warm with the fire set and ready for us to light when we arrived. We would love to come back and stay for longer next time.
We came as part of a cruise tour and were so impressed! The sheep dog and sheep sheering demonstrations were amazing! If you are looking for great views, great people, and a unique experience, this is for you!
