Stayed here several times. The facilities are great. The cabins are quite dated and budget tbh, but sufficient. The pools are great.

Can't recommend this place at all. Firstly, if you book a cabin, there is literally just a blank bed in there plus a tiny shelf and (randomly) a TV. At least the heater worked but that is about the only good thing about this place. We arrived late so there was also not any chance to rent anything at all. Luckily we had our own bedding in the car, but it was not communicated well that it wasn't gonna be provided. If you wanna use the kitchen area, don't expect there to be anything - no pans, no pots, no dishes, no cutlery. You have to bring everything for yourself, again. And if you wanna have a shower? 2 NZD for about 7 min (had to ask how long it runs since it doesn't say it anywhere, bad communication again). For anybody with long hair wanting to wash it, it would be 4 NZD since it is impossible to do it in 7 min. But hey, we can use the pool and hot tubs, right? I mean yeah, to a certain extend. We checked out around 10 am after having breakfast and wanted to use the pools after since we couldn't do so the night before. But here is the catch - the second you check out you are not allowed to use anything anymore. You have to pay an extra 12 NZD. Nobody told us about that, not even the guy at the reception we talked to at 8:15 am. If he would've told us we would've used the facilities before. In general this place seems to be a money making machine with zero customer service. Stay away.

We stayed here a few times, this time in one of the self contained Motel units. It's a laid-back quiet holiday park in a forest setting with two large natural hot pools (with moderate temps) and two tubs with heated (but chlorinated ) water. There are a few enjoyable walking tracks loops (20mins to 1h) and Mini Golf course on the property. Theplace is just a few km outside Katikati.

Booked a few cabins here for a last minute birthday trip for my son’s 10th birthday and what a little gem it is tucked away amongst nature. My family and I booked 2 cabins and used the shared facilities. Everything was very clean. Staff were very friendly too. The pools were our favourite part. The kids had a blast in the big pool whilst I enjoyed the spa. Big open space with enough room to accomodate a lot of families even under the outdoor bbq/ kitchen canopy. Was a lovely stay amongst nature.

We stayed at Sapphire Campground this past weekend and it is honestly one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever been to. It was absolutely fantastic for our almost three-year-old — he loved every second of it! For the first time in a while, we were actually able to relax. The playground felt safe and secure, and cars driving through the campground were very considerate with their speed, which made a huge difference for us as parents. The pools were an absolute blast, and the scenery surrounding the campground is just beautiful. The kitchen facilities were immaculate — and not just straight after the cleaners had been through. The same goes for the bathrooms — spotless, fresh, and no unpleasant smells at all. The campground is clearly strict with its rules, and it really shows in how clean, tidy, and well-run everything is. We loved the sense of order and care throughout the whole place. We will definitely be back soon. What an absolute gem of a place! 🌿✨
