I recently visited Hammer Hardware Katikati in search of a reliable rat trap and was warmly greeted by the new owners, Harjinder and Kamaljit. What a transformation! The store is completely different from the one I visited a couple of years ago. In fact, for a moment I felt like I had walked into a mini Mitre 10. The shop is exceptionally well organised, modern, and incredibly well stocked with just about everything a DIY enthusiast, homeowner, or builder could need. I was so impressed by the range of products and the friendly atmosphere that what should have been a quick visit turned into a 20-minute browse after purchasing the item I originally came in for! If you live anywhere between Bethlehem and Waihi, I highly recommend stopping in at Hammer Hardware Katikati. Chances are you’ll discover something unique that you won’t find in larger hardware stores. Excellent service, excellent range, and well worth the visit.

Visiting the store earlier today from out of town and was very impressed with the range of products, presentation of the store, healthy plants and pleasant friendly and helpful staff. Saw products that I don't see in our local store. Well done Katikati 👏

The guy mixed a paint that didn't match the colour I asked for. He blamed me when the colour was wrong, then offered to add black to darken it, but told me any changes to the incorrect colour were at my own cost and risk! He admitted he knew nothing about paints and colours. Expensive mistake for me, and never again.

I came in with some delightfully vague needs, a lady did her best then she referred me to Jack who helped me figure out a solution with what they had in stock, it's already installed and should work fine. He even helped me get the stuff to the car. Superb.
