Camping Les Criques de Porteils

We fell in love with Camping Les Criques de Porteils. During our Whitsun holiday, we spent three days here. The pitches facing the sea are arranged in terraces, and we had one with a direct view of the sea — absolutely beautiful. The campsite is located slightly higher up. The beach is only a few hundred metres away, either to the right or to the left, and you can soon relax in one of the stunning little coves. Both Collioure and Argelès-sur-Mer are easy to reach on foot. The sanitary facilities are clean, modern and lovingly maintained. The staff were consistently very, very helpful and welcoming. There is also a swimming pool where you can cool off. The only little “French” detail, with a wink, is the required swimwear: at first we only had shorts with us, but we were able to buy suitable swimming trunks in the campsite shop for very little money. We will definitely come back.

First time at this site and we loved it. We were made so welcome, our pitch was perfect. We had sunshine and shade, not far to the pool and the facilities. The little shop sells everything and the staff are very friendly. We particularly loved the aquafit which we did every day except Saturday, it totally set up our day and the aqua zen was great too. The facilities were spotless and we just relaxed for 2 weeks.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful campsite. We visited for a few nights during the off-season with our dog and really enjoyed not only the stunning views, but also the warm and welcoming service. We ended up extending our stay by an extra night because we liked it so much, which was thankfully possible at that time of year. The location is perfect, right between Collioure and Le Racou, both within walking distance (just remember to wear good footwear). We’ll definitely be coming back!

One of those rare van stops where the road actually rewards you. Perched above the Mediterranean, Camping les Criques de Porteils feels like a natural balcony over the sea. You park, open the door, and the view is already there. No effort needed. The terraced layout means even without front row, you still get a glimpse of something special. For van life, it works beautifully. Clean facilities, easy access, and that perfect balance between comfort and nature. You can walk to Collioure, follow the coastal path, or just stay still and let the day pass. The site is well maintained and the staff genuinely helpful, which makes everything smoother. It’s not wild camping. It’s the upgraded version of it. You trade a bit of freedom for a lot of ease. And somehow… it feels like the right deal.

One of our favorite campgrounds at the moment. Beautiful views, friendly staff, good restaurant, and clean facilities. The terraced camping spots are great and some even have shade some trees. We even had some strong winds and the reception changed our spot to one with wind protection. The camping store is open every day with delicious baguettes, croissants, and pain au chocolat. There is a pool with slides and several free sports options (tennis, paddle, petanque, mini-golf).
