About

Fishing village is a tourist attraction in Canet-en-Roussillon. Our site is a unique observation point where the majestic silhouette of Canigou, the sacred Catalan mountain, is reflected in the lagoon. We feature 10 restored wooden huts, some still used for storing fishing equipment. Our lagoon is classified as a Natura 2000 site to preserve natural habitats and protect wild bird species. Our discovery trail along the pond has observation blinds to admire the landscape. During summer, the exhibition hut is open Tuesday through Sunday from June 1st to September 30th, 9 AM to 7 PM.

Beautiful area, especially at sunset. Very calm and peaceful. But be warned.....there are midges, lots of them!

Easy parking access. Absolutely stunning views of the mountains, a must take photo opportunity. Plenty of wildlife as well depending on time if day and season.

An interesting free attraction. This fishing village is a collection of restored huts used by the fishermen for fishing in the nearby lagoon. One of the huts is still used for storing the fishing equipment as the fishermen are still active.
