A popular summer destination. Life here is much cheaper than on the French Riviera. Vast beaches with fine sand. Not too many beach bars. Let the wealthy go to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and pay double here. To all other tourists, welcome to Catalan country. Excellent charcuterie awaits you, along with great restaurants. Happy holidays everyone!

The pros: Fine sand on a very wide and long beach (the longest in the department, I think). The water is shallow for quite a distance, which is great for children. The view of the Pyrenees from the sea is priceless. The cons: A big loss of points this year with the smoking ban on the beach and especially the beach police patrols... they show off on their quad bikes and create a climate of repression. In my opinion, there are other ways to minimize the environmental impact of cigarette butts on the beach. They could make sure people have a pocket ashtray, or distribute them, or even sell them, because ultimately, people smoke anyway.
