We visited the vineyard on a quiet Monday morning. What a beautiful setting, and a nice walk from the station and Banyuls town centre if you want some exercise. Despite speaking English and having no appointment a young French guide Arthur offered to take us on a personal tour and tasting and spoke to us in English. The tour was fascinating and lasted about 30 minutes showing us the wine making processes and explaining the history. We saw the caves and the vinyard. We were then given several wines to taste. This was all free and very generous. Thoroughly recommend a visit and to buy some wines. The famous sweet wine is just beautiful. And thank you again to Arthur for his kindness and patience. This was such a strange experience. We drove from Collioure to taste some wines here after seeing such great reviews online. Upon arriving around 11:30 on a Sunday, the place was dead. We soon found someone and asked if they were open and we could taste some of their wines. The employee brought us to another employee behind a counter who was currently doing a tasting (at least it appeared so) with a group. He asked us if we are familiar with the wines of this region, we said no. He then asked us what we liked and recommended two options to us. We agreed, (albeit found it a bit strange that we could only try one wine each) expecting to be able to taste them directly. He gave us a piece of paper and told us to pick them up at another desk. So we walked over and gave the paper with our two picks to the cashier. She then proceeded to bag up two bottles of wine and that we could pay now. Huh?? We paid for the two bottles and left. This was so disappointing, we really were looking forward to taste some wines and learn more about the wines in the region. Instead we were pushed through and pressured to buy bottles directly of wine we have never tried. Sorry but not even deserving of one star. The wines we bought aren’t even good.

Such a great experience! Unfortunately we missed the English timeframe but our tour guide was so lovely and accommodated to us anyway. It was my first time to do a wine tour and really enjoyed learning new things. Of course we got a bottle to take home ☺️

Wonderful tour of this amazing winery. Laurent was a great guide and made our tour most enjoyable. The wines are very good too! An English tour would have been great though.
