Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to stay here because Château de Valmy canceled my confirmed reservation just 10 days before my arrival. According to the hotel, they had accepted bookings for rooms that were never actually available because the property was reserved for a wedding. While I appreciate that mistakes happen, this was entirely an internal issue that should have been resolved long before it affected paying guests. Canceling a confirmed reservation this close to a trip, especially during peak travel season, left me scrambling to find another hotel when availability was limited and prices had increased significantly. It created unnecessary stress and took valuable time away from planning what was supposed to be an enjoyable vacation. The apology was appreciated, but it doesn't change the fact that the hotel failed to honor a confirmed booking. Reliability is one of the most important qualities in a hotel, and based on my experience, I simply cannot recommend booking here. I would be very cautious about relying on a reservation at this property.

Such a peaceful retreat A joyous place to just be C Lose to the hustle of the beach or nature to explore the local hiking -what ever you want Best pool experience ever (and that is a lot of pools visited) Thankful for Martin and husband for caring enough to bring this spot back to life for themselves and for us

Just near the sea and really pretty in spring. We loved it and my kids (and and 2.5 years old) too. The playground is good (no swing 😭) and you can walk up to look at the sea and the Canigou mountains. Amazing views

Stunning grounds and communal rooms, magnificent pools and lovely breakfast. Staff great. Stayed in 'cheapest' room at 220e a night. Tv didn't work although obliging staff did try to fix it. Toilet and shower on a raised platform with transparent glass wall yuk...and next to lift shaft.

The food is excellent and the setting is amazing. Not cheap of course but not unreasonable for what you get. The wines in particular are very reasonably priced, frankly it's a great spot to get a drink, the view is amazing and a good glass of wine is only a few euros (I think it's starts at €3), and it's great testing wine. Don't forget to visit the wine shop, and also the park by the castle above, it's really nice...
