Tasting is attention, not performance
You do not need specialist vocabulary. Look at color, smell in broad aroma groups, taste for sweetness, acidity, tannin, alcohol and body, then notice the finish.
At a cellar door
Taste from lighter to fuller wines, use water, and ask how each wine connects to its vineyard. Spitting is normal during a longer tasting.
